Terumo CVS Offers "Affordable Care Act" Seminar at Mechanisms of Perfusion

Ann Arbor, Michigan – April 19, 2013 – Terumo CVS is offering its annual Optimizing Cardiac Surgery symposium at the Mechanisms of Perfusion conference on May 16 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. This year, the session is part of the Mechanisms conference schedule.

The Optimizing Cardiac Surgery symposium is titled "Conflict or Accord? Meeting the Mandates of the Affordable Care Act While Ensuring Optimal Patient Outcomes." Terumo will offer a breakfast buffet at 8 a.m., and the Mechanisms conference begins with the Terumo session at 8:30 a.m.

The speakers and topics are:

  • Tom Buchmueller, Ph.D., Professor and Health Economist at the University of Michigan, will summarize the Affordable Care Act and how it impacts cardiac operating rooms.
  • Jeff Riley, CCP, Director of Perfusion, Mayo Clinic, will share how his hospital has prepared for the Affordable Care Act, how it impacts patient care, and how they are lowering costs in the cardiac operating room.

Registrants for the Mechanisms conference are automatically registered for the Terumo Optimizing Cardiac Surgery symposium. Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) will be offered to attendees through Mechanisms.
