Terumo Celebrates 10 Years of Perfusion Education

Ann Arbor, Michigan – June 26, 2012 – Terumo Cardiovascular Systems and its perfusion customers celebrated 10 years of a collaborative educational focus during its 10th annual Optimizing Cardiac Surgery Symposia Series. The educational series explores the most relevant themes in cardiac surgery, focusing on improving patient outcomes and reducing hospital costs.

The 10th Annual Optimizing Cardiac Surgery Symposium was held on May 17 during Mechanisms of Perfusion in Orlando, Florida. Topics were Integrating Perfusion Simulation Into Your Practice; Benefits of Prescriptive Oxygenation; and Using New Technology To Detect Microemboli.

For 10 years, peer-to-peer presentations have covered a broad range of topics from platelet gel and minimized circuits, to perfusion simulation and blood management results. Perfusionists have attended annually to see the latest research and learn best practices to enhance their perfusion practice and improve patient care.
